The email conundrum

We are just too busy for this.

The first email I ever received was written on a computer hooked up to a dot-matrix printer. It was written using a program called UNIX on a black monitor with tiny white letters displayed in the only font available: modern computer talk. It was 1989, the Internet’s glory years were far in the future, and I was a lonely college first-year waiting impatiently to receive an electronic missive from my beloved, a boy who went to college six hours away from me. (Spoiler alert, if you’re curious: The relationship didn’t last, and neither did that first email.)

I didn’t expect email to become a mess, but here we are.

[And…this is the beginning of blog #2. It will be finished soon, I promise.]
